Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah, criticizes Ballon d'Or awar

In an interview with him, with the American magazine "GQ", about the Argentine Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain who will win the Ballon d'Or for the year 2021, Salah said: "I want to be the best player in  the world, but I'll live a good life even if I don't win the Ballon d'Or."

Referring to his seventh place in the standings of the 2021 Ballon d'Or prize awarded by the French magazine "France Football", Salah said: "I am not bothered by this matter, I can not tell you that I do not  think "I have a feeling this award is political."

Speaking about his ambitions for this year, Salah said: "I want to crown the Egyptian team in the African Nations Cup and qualify again for the World Cup."

  Salah's most important achievements

It is noteworthy that Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah, tops the list of top scorers in the English Premier League, with 22 goals, one goal ahead of his rival, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane - England, who is the leader with 23  goals .

Salah was also able to achieve a historic feat, being unique in the ranking of the best African scorers, after raising his score to 107 goals, ahead of Chelsea striker, retired Ivorian Didier Drogba, who scored 104  goals scored.

Why did Mohamed Salah not win the Ballon d'Or?

It seems that there are certain criteria for winning this award, related to individual titles and achievements, so Salah was unable to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or, despite the great performance he delivered during his football career, especially  after he became a brilliant star in Liverpool, and the voices of many rose for his right to receive the award.

It is noteworthy that Egyptian Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was seventh in the 2021 Ballon d'Or standings awarded by the French magazine "France Football", amid widespread criticism.
